This is the first release to feature material from the Vas song books.

Gates, in the duo form of Bryan W. Bray and Joel Beauchamp, were invited to perform at Utech Records Music Festival III. The day prior to the festival, the duo visited radio station WMSE where they played a live set of Vas material in a stripped down arrangement.
That set is Viscera side A.

Viscera side B delves into the Vas studio recordings, some thought abandoned as mere experiments or sketches. Bray pulled them apart and reconstructed them into new ideas, revealing the inner workings of the conceptual vessel to complement the primal essence of the live performance. Taking various elements of psychedelic noise and improv filtered through the lens of metal and heavy atmospherics, Gates plunge directly into territory of their own making.
